LFW AW11

London's bad weather really did deter me from embracing Spring 11 trends for Fashion Week, apart from a pop of colour and pattern introduced by my electric blue Zara courts and my Kurt Geiger Leopard print cone heels, it was a wrapped up look all round! Tragic really...Luckily it seems AW11 is very much carrying on from where SS11 left off. Colour is the order of the day! As were stunning coats, longer skirt lengths and tucking your hair in to you coat, so make sure your rocking some longer locks next season.

Here are my best shots from a thoroughly enjoyable week.

Clemens Riberio work a beautiful print as expected.

Ashish shows everyone how to do blinged out grunge.

A boy! (at Ashish).

Behold! Amber Rose.

Krystof Strozyna was pure, sleek, modernity.

Kimberley Girls Aloud.
A Betty Jackson beauty.
A riot of colour at Louise Gray.

Drama at Maria Grachvogel. Gorgeous.

NYFW: FF Favourites

Proenza Schouler everything, but especially this dress donned by the Dunn. So chic it hurts.

Rodarte setting sun nails.

The perfect ponytail at Marc Jacobs.

Parkas over eveningwear at Vera wang (see also Alexander Wang, Altzurra) so nineties.

Who doesn't love a casual birdcage veil? Thank you Jason Wu.

Donna Karan draping at it's best. This may be my future wedding dress.

Fashion Does The Splits

Alexander Wang

Every season I'm noticing more and more of the Nineties creeping back in to fashion's favour. NYFW has celebrated nineties style unashamedly with some serious side splits. I lived for side-splited skirts in my teens as my Ghanaian mother was never a fan of mini skirts, but didn't seem to mind a mid-length skirt with an inappropriate split (really mum?!) this pleased the teenage-me no end! I am so embracing this trend come September. Frankly I am loving Michael Kors sexy secretary version, which designer is giving you great split?

Fashion Week love means shoe love

New York Fashion Week has taken over my life, I have been staying up all hours of the night to check out the latest Proenza Schouler African-esque prints and Michael Kors' major luxe 30 year anniversary show. Obviousl being a footwear freak I also took note of what NY had to offer for my abused tootsies. Here are some faves:
Peter Som brightens up the ankle boot
Proenza Schouler do accessories like no other. These are seriously sick. Alaia eat your heart out.

Love how Alexander Wang isn't afraid to add a touch of fun in to his tough aesthetic. Fur shoes in the winter?! Crazy!

Wonder Fashion Woman

Shoes Lynda Carter would be proud of ...

I went out today innocently expecting nothing out of the ordinary, but came home with the potential to look and feel like a contemporary version of Wonderwoman. It may have been the influence of the latest make-up collection from MAC, it could be thanks to the SS11 trends, but my latest buys are statement and I am feeling them. The jumpsuit is perfect for spring, relaxed yet a little utilitarian and the shoes are my personal ode to the ridulous colour palette at the Prada show. So hot. I may don my new outfit this weekend in a quest to meet Wonderman. Tinie Tempah, I wouldn't say no.

Pre-season Hotness!

Pre-Fall creates joy. So many designers are having fun with their collections. Erdem even threw jumpuits and seventies inspired trews in to his usually dress dominated collections. Beautiful outerwear could be a focus for AW12 if pre-fall is to be believed, Celine and Stella McCartney were...well stellar. The Olsen twins outdid themselves with minimalist siloheuttes and lots of black leather, just the way I like it. Here are the looks i'm lusting.

The Row, forever cool.
Stella McCartney does a real a mannish coat.
Layering and clashing colours and some sick boots. I heart Proenza Schouler
Erdem goes edgy
